  • June 08, 2020 - New COVID-19 pandemic visitor hours are now in effect

    New COVID-19 pandemic visitor hours are now in effect at SSH Oklahoma City. One visitor will be permitted per patient, per day from 2 pm - 6 pm. The safety and health of our patients, staff and the community remain our top priority. To that end, it is important to thoroughly review our updated visitation guidelines and screening process prior to arrival.

    April 20, 2016 - SSH - Oklahoma City Receives Hospital of Excellence Award
    During the 18th Annual CEO and Medical Director Conference for the long-term-acute care hospital (LTACH) division of Select Medical, Select Specialty Hospital - Oklahoma City was awarded the Chairman’s Hospital of Excellence Award. This award is given to the hospital showing excellence in clinical competence and outcomes, demonstrating the Select Medical core values, providing exceptional patient care, maintaining superior quality metrics and achieving all business objectives and benchmarks.
    April 24, 2015 - SSH - Oklahoma City Wins Employee Engagement Award
    Select Specialty Hospital – Oklahoma City was recently awarded the Select Medical Employee Engagement Award for it’s for high scores achieved through the Fresh20 survey. This survey showed employees are actively engaged in their jobs – which leads to greater focus on patient care, makes employees more productive and have a safer work environment.
    August 01, 2013 - SSH-Oklahoma City receives the 2012 Hospital of Excellence Award

    SSH-Oklahoma City received the 2012 Hospital of Excellence Award at the annual Select Medial CEO Conference in Washington, DC.

    This award is given to hospitals who have met all of the clinical quality measures criteria set through an intense and comprehensive application process

    December 18, 2012 - Select Speciality Hospital-Oklahoma City receives Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program designation

    Select Speciality Hospital-Oklahoma City was proudly recognized for its comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program which is designed for patients with complex medical complications resulting from a TBI.

    To earn a TBI Program designation status, a formal application process involving an on-site survey with specific criteria focusing on neurological clinical protocols, staff training, risk/safety processess and more were utilized to receive this designation.

    December 18, 2012 - SSH-Oklahoma City Receives Stroke Program Designation

    Select Speciality Hospital-Oklahoma City was proudly recognized for its comprehensive Stroke Program which is designed for patients with complex medical complications resulting from a stroke.

    To earn a Stroke Program designation status, a formal application process involving an on-site survey with specific criteria focusing on neurological clinical protocols, staff training, risk/safety processes and more were utilized to receive this designation.

    January 02, 2012 - SSH-Oklahoma City Recognized for Quality Respiratory Care

    Select Specialty Hospital-Oklahoma City named a 2011 Quality Respiratory Care Institute by the American Association for Respiratory Care.

     

    To earn this distinction, Select Medical hospitals had to demonstrate and ensure patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing respiratory care services.  Out of 5,000 U.S. hospitals, only 700 (approximately 15 percent of hospitals) have received this distinction from the American Association for Respiratory Care.

     

    AARC states that "hospitals that meet the Quality Respiratory Care Program requirements provide a level of respiratory care consistent with national standards and guidelines, and should be commended for their commitment to quality care."  Our respiratory therapists are specially trained health care professionals who work under physician's orders to provide a wide range of breathing treatments and other services for individuals with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, AIDS, and other lung or lung-related conditions.
